I think the one privacy issue they do have is in showing so many users in the Search function when trying to connect with friends, etc. That feature alone should go. Not necessary and potentially intrusive, as some here have already shown by getting spammed with job scams, etc. Hope they will continue to make improvements. I was under the impression that wire was secure. Then I read some reviews.
It is disappointing how insecure it is. Lately it has had a bug which exhibits an Icon badge with a 1 in it when there are no unread messages. Sometimes it goes away after a new message comes in and you read it. But most of the time the 1 is there. My peers had trouble realizing they have been texted. Even the Ping is subtle. The app should offer alternative alert sounds. I am a businessman and a leader of the sales team here, and emojis are the pop culture of modern day communications.
